Clean Up Your Health This Season

Living in a world with ever-changing lifestyles, maintaining good health with optimal immunity can become a herculean task. As our bodies fall prey to so many of the infectious diseases that plague the world today, boosting your immunity and focusing on your physical and mental well-being is the key to keep them at bay. However, it may not be as easy as it sounds. It requires dedication and the will to practice a healthy lifestyle for years together, one that cleanses the mind, body, and soul.

But, the only way you can clean up your health is by beginning afresh. As we all know, every season comes with preset conditions that affect your body and health. But embracing these seasons wholeheartedly and adapting to the changes can only bring about better health and wellness in your life.

When we talk about the warmer months, filling your plate with several colors may work wonders on your overall health, including skin and hair. Transform from a more heavy diet to lighter meals packed with fresh fruits and vegetables. Here is how you can clean up, eat right, and work your way towards holistic wellness and celebrate yourself – fit and healthy!

Make active immunity your best friend!

Consider this actual cleaning up your health from the inside out! Our digestive tract should contain more beneficial bacteria (probiotics) than harmful bacteria to maintain optimal health. You can opt for fermented dairy products such as full-fat yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut, miso, and kombucha are all great sources of probiotics.

Cartwheel your way into complete nutrition!

Out with processed foods and in with fresh. For a variety of delicious, nutritious options, stock up on fresh seasonal produce at your local grocer or farmer’s market. Asparagus, broccoli, butter lettuce, honeydew, mango, oranges, green beans, pineapple, peas, spinach, and strawberries are just a few of the fruits and vegetables that are in season during March, April, and May.

Outdated medicines may refuse to tackle allergies. Clean them out!

It’s time to look for old products and toss or recycle them. If you’re already experiencing allergies this season, you might want to try supplements, which are natural alternatives to medications. However, check with your doctor before you make any changes. These supplements must work for you, and therefore you need to make sure you have them prescribed.

Who knew sugar could sweetly talk its way into your kitchen cabinets. Learn to say NO!

Take stock of any products that contain hidden sugars and discard them. Those products are almost certainly high in sugar, and consuming them will not benefit your health. Treat yourself to some fresh spices and new bottles of healthy fat options once you’ve cleared some space in your fridge to inspire you to cook what’s in season!

Fresh air and sunny mornings can boost your vitamin intake. Head outside with caution!

With less sunlight during the winter months, the body can quickly become depleted of vitamin D – necessary for healthy bones, immune function, hormone balance, and several other vital body processes. Going for an early morning walk is a great way to get some vitamin D while also allowing for some quiet meditative time to plan out your day’s activities and goals.

Whether you choose to tackle one or all of the items on the list, we hope you feel revitalized and inspired for the season ahead. And, even though it’s a general feature to search for ways to declutter and tidy up at home, all too often, people forget to focus on their health, failing to recognize that their physical and mental well-being requires a thorough cleaning just as much as their homes.

We encourage you to feel comfortable in your skin and lead on to become a confident version of yourself while exploring the multitude of hues life has to offer you.
